Caltagirone Market

It was pouring rain yesterday and this morning, though crisp was nice just a few clouds in the distance. Randy and Anne decided to head to the Saturday market for some fresh fruits and veggies. After only a few minutes of being there...... the rain started coming down and not just rain, but hail too. You can see in one of the pictures the hail next to the fennel root. Lucky the guys at the formaggi (cheese) truck had a tent over them!! We had to hurry through the rest of our shopping but it was a beautiful experience. We do love living in Sicily.

Used to see veggies like that in the farms around Atsugi. Pulled a pilot with a broken neck out of a cabbage patch once that had cabbages as big as nail kegs. I guess it was the fertilizer they used.
